Shipping Slow Release T3 to the United States
Chronic Illness Research ships slow release T3 (SRT3) to all 50 US states via tracked international mail from Canada. Orders are dispatched from our Canadian facility and typically arrive within 7–14 business days depending on your location and customs processing times.
All US-bound shipments include a tracking number so you can monitor your package from departure to delivery.
How US Customs Handles Research Compounds
Research-grade compounds shipped to the United States for personal research use generally pass through US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) without issue. Packages are declared as "research reagents" with full documentation.
A few things to keep in mind:
- FDA import rules: The FDA permits importation of small quantities of compounds for personal use under their enforcement discretion policy. Research compounds that are not scheduled substances typically clear customs without delay.
- No DEA scheduling: Liothyronine (T3) is not a controlled substance under DEA scheduling. It is a thyroid hormone used in clinical settings worldwide and is not subject to the same import restrictions as scheduled compounds.
- Discreet packaging: All shipments are sent in plain, unmarked packaging with no external indication of contents beyond what is required for customs documentation.
Estimated Delivery Times by Region
Shipping times vary based on your distance from the Canadian border and how quickly your local customs facility processes international mail.
| US Region | States | Estimated Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Northeast | New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island | 7–10 business days |
| Midwest | Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri | 8–11 business days |
| Southeast | Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama | 9–12 business days |
| Southwest | Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma | 10–13 business days |
| West Coast | California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah | 9–12 business days |
| Pacific / Remote | Hawaii, Alaska | 12–16 business days |
These are estimates based on typical transit times. Actual delivery may vary during peak holiday seasons or if customs processing is delayed.
Available SRT3 Dosages
We offer four dosages of our sustained-release T3 formulation, all available for US shipping:
- SRT3-15 (15 mcg) — Entry-level dosage for initial research protocols
- SRT3-30 (30 mcg) — Standard research dosage
- SRT3-45 (45 mcg) — Intermediate dosage for established protocols
- SRT3-60 (60 mcg) — High-dose formulation for advanced research
All SRT3 products use a sustained-release matrix that delivers liothyronine over 12 hours, reducing the peak-and-trough pattern seen with instant-release T3 formulations.
Why US Researchers Order From Canada
The United States has a well-established pharmaceutical industry, but compounded slow release T3 can be difficult to source domestically. Here's why many US-based researchers turn to Canadian suppliers:
Compounding pharmacy access varies by state. Not every US state has compounding pharmacies that produce sustained-release liothyronine. Some states have stricter compounding regulations, and availability can be inconsistent depending on your location.
Cost differences. Compounded T3 from US pharmacies often requires a prescription and can cost $60–$120+ per month depending on dosage and pharmacy. Research-grade SRT3 from Canadian suppliers offers a more accessible price point for research purposes.
Consistency of formulation. Compounding pharmacies in the US may use different release matrices and excipients depending on the pharmacist. Our SRT3 uses a standardized sustained-release formulation with consistent lot-to-lot specifications, which is important for reproducible research results.
Payment Methods for US Orders
We accept two payment methods for US-based orders:
- Bitcoin (BTC) — Processed via BTCPay Server with no surcharge. This is the default and most private payment method. Transactions are processed immediately and orders ship within 24 hours of confirmation.
- PayPal — Available with a 20% processing surcharge. Convenient for researchers who prefer traditional payment methods.
Both methods are fully encrypted, and no product-specific information appears on any payment receipt or statement.
US Shipping FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it legal to import T3 into the United States?
Liothyronine (T3) is not a DEA-scheduled controlled substance. The FDA's personal importation policy generally permits small quantities of non-scheduled compounds to be imported for personal use. Research-grade compounds shipped in research quantities typically clear customs without issues. However, import regulations can change, and it is the buyer's responsibility to verify current rules for their jurisdiction.
How long does shipping take to the US?
Most US orders arrive within 7–14 business days. Northeast states closest to the Canadian border tend to receive packages fastest (7–10 days), while Hawaii and Alaska may take up to 16 business days. All orders include tracking.
Do you ship to PO boxes and APO/FPO addresses?
We ship to standard US street addresses and PO boxes. APO/FPO military addresses can experience longer transit times (14–21 business days) due to additional routing through military postal channels.
Will my package go through customs?
Yes, all international shipments from Canada to the US pass through US Customs and Border Protection. Packages are declared accurately as research reagents. In our experience, the vast majority of packages clear customs within 1–3 business days.
What if my package is held at customs?
In rare cases, a package may be held for additional inspection. If this happens, you will typically receive a notice from CBP. Contact our support team and we will assist with any documentation needed. If a package is seized or returned, we offer a one-time reship at no additional cost.
Do you offer expedited shipping to the US?
Currently, we offer standard international tracked shipping only. We are evaluating express courier options (DHL, FedEx) for US deliveries and will update this page when faster shipping tiers become available.
