What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. This site uses a combination of cookies and browser local storage to provide core functionality.

How We Use Storage

Shopping Cart (localStorage)

Your cart contents are stored in your browser's local storage so items persist between page visits. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers until you proceed to checkout.

Essential — Cannot be disabled

Authentication Session (Session Cookie)

If you are an administrator, a secure session cookie is set when you log in. This cookie is HTTP-only and expires when you sign out or close your browser. It is never accessible to JavaScript.

Essential — Admin accounts only

Analytics (Umami — Self-Hosted)

We use Umami, a privacy-focused, open-source analytics tool that we self-host on our own servers at analytics.chronic-illness.ca. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across websites. All data stays on our infrastructure. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking.

Privacy-first — No cookies, no personal data

Third-Party Services

When you proceed to payment, you are redirected to our BTCPay Server instance at btcpay.chronic-illness.ca, which we operate independently. BTCPay does not use third-party tracking cookies.

Transactional emails are delivered via Resend. Resend does not set cookies on this website.

Managing Cookies

You can clear local storage and cookies at any time through your browser settings. Clearing local storage will empty your shopping cart. Note that disabling cookies entirely may prevent the admin login from functioning.
